DHAKA: Bangladesh Bank Governor Dr Atiur Rahman Thursday warned the commercial banks of their over enthusiastic investment in the capital market.
“You must make the banking sector risk-free and must not push the sector into an extra-risk for temporary profit,” he said addressing the inaugural function of `3rd Bank and Financial Institutions Fair-2010` held at a Hotel.
A total of 27 banks and financial organizations are taking part in the three-day long fair.
He said the stability of banking sectors of Bangladesh surprised many when the banking systems of developed economy were collapsed for world recession.
The governor said the central bank has strengthened its monitoring function over the commercial banks.
