Remittance inflow increases in Sep

DHAKA: The amount of inflow of remittance in the September was US $1319.34 million which was $145 million more than August.

General Manager of Bangladesh Bank (BB) Abul Kalam Azad made the disclosure to banglanews.

Four state owned banks have brought $442.52 million, four specialized banks brought $17.4 million and 39 private banks brought $845.52 million remittance in the country.

Agrani Bank Ltd has brought $157.68 million which is the highest amount among the state owned banks whereas Islami Bank managed to bring $331.31 which is the largest amount among the private banks of the country.

Among the specialized banks, Bangladesh Krishi Bank has brought US $16.89 million remittance.

Nine foreign banks have brought $14.27 million, of which, Standard Chartered Bank has brought $5.99 million, highest amount among the foreign banks.

Foreign Exchange Policy Division of the central bank told banglanews that the amount of remittance in August was US $1174.37 million.
