DHAKA: National Board of Revenue (NBR) chairman Golam Rahman on Sunday said unawareness among the taxpayers is the big challenge in tax return submission.
He said some 2.5 lakh taxpayers are dropped out every year because of unawareness.
We should work together to create awareness, he added.
The NBR chief made the remark while addressing unveiling program of ‘Tax Guide 2014-15’ of Dhaka Chamber of Commerce and Industry (DCCI) at the DCCI conference room in the city.
Rahman said that the date of tax return submission will not be deferred from the existing date of November 2.
He asked for taking suggestions from the tax office, if any tax payer has problems.
At present, around 18lakh people have TIN (tax identification number) across the country, the NBR chief informed the audience.
