DHAKA: Hennes & Mauritz AB (H&M), Swedish multinational retail clothing company, is likely to expand its business in Bangladesh as the international buyers are satisfied to the garment sector of the country.
Bangladesh Garment Manufactures & Exporters Association (BGMEA) President Atikul Islam told these while inaugurating the 2nd Denimsandjeans.com Bangladesh Show in city’s Radisson Blu Water Garden hotel on Tuesday.
Atikul said country’s readymade garment (RMG) industry faced a big challenge after the Rana Plaza building collapse tragedy, but we have come back with the help of all.
“We have taken all necessary measures related to the workers’ security,” he said adding, for this reason, that the buyers are satisfied.
He further said an H&M delegation has recently visited the country to inspect the environment at the RMG factories.
Atikul told the audience that the delegations expressed their positive attitudes towards the factory environment and interest to expand their business in the country.
H&M is the second largest international buyer of Bangladesh’s RMG products.
The Denimsandjeans.com Show will remain open from 9:00am to 6:00pm till October 16.
