DHAKA: Robi Axiata Limited, country’s fastest growing mobile-phone operator, has been awarded ISO 27001:2013 certification for its outstanding service.
Prestigious British Standards Institution certified Robi with 2013 version of ISO 27001 making it the first telecom in Bangladesh to receive the recognition, said a press release on Sunday.
ISO 27001:2013 is an information security standard published by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) and the International Electro Technical Commission (IEC) under the joint ISO and IEC subcommittee.
Robi has implemented the information security management system in line with the ISO 27001:2013 standard to ensure the highest level of security to customer information.
Regarding the recognition, Chief Operating Officer of Robi Mahtab Uddin Ahmed said, “The recognition validates that Robi has in place robust policy framework, coordinated awareness, enforcement and optimal utilisation of resources for better protection of its customer information.”
Adopting the information security standard prescribed by the ISO has enabled Robi will develop, implement, operate, maintain and improve information security processes and controls within the organization.
