DHAKA: Humayun Kabir from Bunagati village of Salikha upazila under Magura district came to the limelight through media in 2013 for his innovation of an environment friendly Ruti (bread) Maker machine.

To make bread in two seconds-this research has ended. He got the memento of environment directorate for his machine. In a very short time he has sold more than 2,000 machines home and abroad. Now he wants to go ahead commercially.
But the path is not so easy rather full of problems. He has not much money. He exhausted all his money for his innovation what he had.
He is dreaming to spread his magic machine around the world. But he needs capital. He tried for bank loan but the banks want mortgage or security. He needs a few lakhs money to translate his dream into realty.
On Monday last, November 17, Kabir narrated tales of his sorrows at banglanews office in Bashundhara Residential Area of the capital.
He told in remorse that he named his machine after the name of his tiny daughter Laaibah and dreamt that his machine will be spread around the world along with his daughter’s name. But monetary problem has shattered his dream.
“If I can be settled financially then I will be able to send few thousand machines abroad. The machine has demand in my country also. A large scale production needs wide space where few hundred people will be employed,” he said.
He received phone calls through relatives living abroad who inform that his machines have reached USA, UK, Sweden, Italy and Saudi Arabia. He himself parceled through post offices and DHL.
His small factory in Magura, where some 21 laborers are working, who take either salary or remuneration for their work. But it is difficult to send machines from Magura and accordingly he has set up an office in Dhaka.
He said, “If government wants then it can help me because I have tried in many banks, including state owned Sonali Bank but nothing hopeful. As an innovator I draw the attention of the Prime Minister.”
The bread making machine has become very nice looking now and effective. Now various recipes, including ‘porota’ can be prepared.
Different kinds of recipes, including boiled bread of atta, flour, luchi, rice crushed flour, vegetable bread, Delhi-bread, egg porota, kima porota, kalijara bread and other delicious breads.

He told that he invented the machine in three months with help of a piece of wood and a paper technology. Even a child or an old can prepare twelve to fifteen ‘ruti’ in one minute. The ‘ruti’ will be big in size but thin like paper.
Humayun Kabir told that his ruti making machine is unparallel because the electric machine which is available in the market can only make from un-boiled watered atta.
Having many facilities of his machine, Kabir also pointed out the disadvantages of his machine that his machine needs change of ruti paper after 15-20 days. Moreover, his machine does not fry the ruti.
He is manufacturing machines of three sizes- small, mid size and big size. It costs Tk 3,000 to Tk 6,000. He is selling those from Tk 3850 to Tk 8,000 as per size. In whole sale the price is considered.
