DHAKA: The Executive Committee of the National Economic Council (ECNEC) Tuesday approved nine development projects involving Tk 2580 crore.
Of the total amount, the government will finance Tk 2360 crore while the rest part will come from project aid, according to decision taken at the ECNEC meeting.
ECNEC chairperson Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina chaired the meeting held at NEC conference room.
The approved projects include: Developing four-lane Nabinagar-DEPZ-Chandra at a cost of Tk 96 crore under Roads and Railway, Emergency Damage Rehabilitation Project-2007 at a cost of Tk 240 crore under Local Government Department.
It also include Lebukhali-Bauphol-Galachipa-Amragachhia Road reconstruction under Road and Railway Department at a cost of Tk 99 crore, BSIC Industrial Park Sirajganj Project under Industry Ministry at a cost of Tk 379 crore, Asrayan-2 under Prime Minister Office at a cost of Tk 1169 crore and Kandal Crops Development Project under Agricultural Ministry at a cost of Tk 421.
Finance Minister AMA Muhith, Planning Minister Air-Vice Marshal (Rtd) AK Khandaker, Agriculture Minister Matia Chowdhury, Water Resources Minister Ramesh Chandra Sen, Commerce Minister Faruk Khan, Communications Minister Syed Abul Hossain, Shipping Minister Shahjahan Khan were present.
