DHAKA: The leaders of Garments Workers’ Samanay Parishad will hold a grand rally on September 21 demanding reasonable wage, to shut vandalism in factories, ensuring security of female workers and to get back GSP facilities.
The grand rally will likely to hold at city’s Suhrawardy Udyan.
The announcement came from a press briefing organized by leaders of the parishad’ at city’s press club on Saturday.
Shipping Minister Shahjahan Khan, also convener of the RMG workers alliance said, “Sacking, filing fake cases, lower wage and irrational hike of house rent brought huge sufferings to the RMG workers’. But, the garment owners are earning huge amount of forex.”
The minister emphasized on women empowerment in RMG sector as their industrious effort along with male fellows made a tremendous uptrend in countries GDP.
Shahjahan Khan Said, “US cancelled GSP facilities amid propagandas by conspirators and they are also creating chaos in RMG sector.”
He added: “We have to unite against the conspirators like Hifajat, who are totally against women empowerment.”
He also asserted that trade union rights restored for RMG workers.
Leaders of different RMG workers’ right organization also attended the press briefing.
