The ruling Awami League-backed Blue Panel teachers’ association of Dhaka University (DU) has strongly protested the recent move of a vested quarter for creating political unrest in the country during the month of victory.
They have issued a statement in this regard on Friday (Dec 9).
According to the statement, the vested group is involved in creating anarchy in the political arena by disrupting the peaceful environment in the country. Dhaka University Blue Panel strongly condemns and protests such activities.
The statement said the defeated forces of 71 and their allies are engaged in various misdeeds to dishonour the dignity of this month (December).
Since 2009, Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman's daughter Sheikh Hasina's government has been in power and unprecedented development has been achieved in Bangladesh. The nation is enjoying its benefits. Bangladesh has been praised by the international community for efficiently dealing with the corona virus and continuing its development progress, it said.
The statement also said that the ruling party has made a place in the hearts of the people by constructing mammoth projects including Padma Bridge, Nuclear Power Plant, Metro Rail, Bangabandhu Satellite, Bangabandhu Tunnel.
The current government is giving all its efforts to hold a participatory election in 2024, the statement added.
"We hope that everyone will come to their senses and avoid the path of destructive politics and return to fair politics. Taking into consideration the issue of public interest, we call on everyone to enjoy the right to carry out the program according to the laws of the state of Bangladesh. We appeal to citizens with democratic values to take a clear stand against any form of anarchy and inaction", the statement also added.
