The Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) and equivalent examinations have been deferred by one month as the colleges could not complete their syllabuses.
Prof Tapan Kumar Sarker, chairman of the Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education, Dhaka and coordinator of the Inter-Education Boards confirmed the matter on Wednesday (April 12).
The examinations will be held in August next, said Prof Tapan Kumar.
He said some institutions could not finish their HSC syllabuses. As a result, the tests of HSC examinations have been deferred by one month. However, dates and times have not been finalised yet.
The chairman of the Dhaka Board said the HSC and equivalent examinations of 2023 will be held according to the syllabuses of 2022 of the National Curriculum and Textbook Board.
Earlier HSC and equivalent examinations of this year were scheduled to be held in July.
