As dengue cases are increasing across Bangladesh, the government has issued five instructions to prevent the viral infection at schools and colleges, which are reopening tomorrow (July 9) after the Eid-ul-Azha holidays.

The Directorate of Secondary and Higher Education (DSHE) has given five-point instructions to prevent dengue, including regular cleaning of all educational institutions. An order has also been issued to this end.

According to the guidelines of the DSHE, dengue outbreak has recently occurred in capital Dhaka and various parts of the country. Many people are affected and many are at risk. It is possible to get rid of this disease if it is taken precautions. Dengue is a mosquito-borne disease.

Places where water stagnates in school playgrounds and buildings, and water in flower pots are perfect breeding grounds for Aedes mosquitoes. Under this situation, to prevent the spread of dengue, it has been requested all the educational institutions of the country to follow some guidelines after opening following the Eid-ul-Azha vacation. Five guidelines are:

1. Playgrounds and buildings should be kept clean regularly.

2. Stagnant water in the field or building should be removed quickly.

3. The flower tubs kept for the beautification of educational institutions should be kept clean regularly.

4. It should be ensured that water does not stagnate in the breeding ground of Aedes mosquitoes.

5. The concerned authorities and teachers will inform students daily about ways to prevent dengue.
