Professor Dr. Mohammad Jahangir Hussain of the Department of Islamic History and Culture has been appointed as the Proctor of Jagannath University (JnU) for the next two years.
An office order signed by the registrar of the university, Engineer Md. Ohiduzzaman was issued on Sunday (February 18).
According to office order, subject to the approval of the syndicate, Professor Dr. Mohammad Jahangir Hussain has been appointed as proctor for the next two years. This order will be effective on 19 February. He will be entitled to allowances and other benefits as per the rules.
It is to be noted that, on 29 May 2019, Mostofa Kamal, a teacher in the Islamic Studies department, was given the responsibility of proctor. After his term expired on 24 July, 2021, he was asked to serve as proctor for an indefinite period until re-ordered the next day. Since then, he was serving as a proctor.
