The Ministry of Education would not appeal against the High Court order to keep the educational institutions closed due to the ongoing heatwave, said the public prosecutors on Tuesday.
A High Court bench of Justice KM Kamrul Quader and Justice Khizir Hayat on Monday ordered the closure of classes in primary, and secondary schools and madrasas till Thursday considering the heat alert.
However, the order will not be applicable for the institutions where AC is available, examination is ongoing; for O-level, A-level examination and college-university.
Education Minister Mohibul Hasan Chowdhury Nowfel was disappointed with the order and mentioned that the demand to close educational institutions is not desirable.
Then, he vowed to challenge the order of the High Court to the Appellate Division.
The education minister said that a mentality is being created to close educational institutions across the country.
He also suggested everyone for fulfilling the duties that have been given constitutionally.
