The Ministry of Education today (May 2) said countrywide closed primary and secondary-level educational institutions amid heatwave will reopen on Saturday.
A notification was issued in this regard this morning.
“Classes will resume from Saturday,” read the notice signed by the ministry’s public relations officer MA Khayer.
Schools and colleges were scheduled to reopen on April 21 after the end of Eid holidays but the closure was extended till April 27 due to sweltering heat across the country caused by heatwaves.
Although, classes resumed on April 28, later the authorities extended the closure of primary and secondary-level educational intuitions till May 2 following a High Court order.
The High Court passed a suo moto order following reports of death and sickness of people, including teachers and students, after the reopening of the educational institutions.
