The authorities concerned have closed all government primary schools within the eight city corporation areas of the country indefinitely considering the safety of the students during the ongoing clashes in the country over the quota reform.
Ministry of Primary and Mass Education announced on Wednesday morning issued a press release signed by senior information officer Mahbubur Rahman Tuhin in this connection.
Academic activities at all government primary schools, as well as other primary schools and learning centers run by the Shishu Kallyan Trust and the Bureau of Non-Formal Education, will remain suspended until further notice, it says.
Earlier, on Tuesday night, the University Grants Commission (UGC) announced the closure of all public and private universities until further notice, citing the safety of students amidst the backdrop of the quota reform movement.
