DHAKA: Higher Secondary School Certificate (HSC) and equivalent examinations began from Thursday.
The examination began at 10:00am where a total of 11.41 lakhs students are taking part this year under eight general education boards, madrasa and vocational boards.
Under eight general education boards and vocational board, the candidates are taking Bangla First Paper tests on the first day while the madrasa students Quran Majid.
The theoretical examinations began on April 3 and will continue till May 8 while the practical examinations will end by May 15.
This year, examinations in 25 subjects will be held in creative method.
A total of 9,24,171 students are appearing in the HSC exams. Among them, 4,67, 706 are male and four lakh, 56 thousand and 465 are female students.
A total of 1,07,557 madrasa students are attending the Alim exams. Among them, 63,970 are male and 43,587 are female students.
One lakh, 4 thousand and 669 students are sitting for the vocational examinations.
