BARISAL: Five assistant proctors, including president and general secretary of teachers association of Barisal University (BU), resigned from the proctorial body on Thursday. 

They are assistant professor Shafiul Alam of Mathematics Department, Tanvir Kaiser of English Department, Dil Afroz Tania assistant professor of Social Science Department, assistant professor Fatema Kaniz and Abdul Kaiyum of Marketing Department.

Marketing Department Lecturer Abdul Kaiyum confirmed the matter to banglanews.

All five proctors have submitted their resign papers to Registrar Monirul Islam.

They resigned as the varsity authorities failed to fulfill the basic needs for the students, said a source.
