BCL clash, CUET closed sine die

CHITTAGONG: The authorities closed Chittagong University of Engineering and Technology (CUET) for an indefinite period from Tuesday following a infighting of Chhatra League.

The decision came in a meeting with the university din, head of the departments, and senior teachers on Tuesday morning.

University notice board said that following a clash between two groups of students the university declared closed sine die. But post graduate level educational porgrammes will continue. 

Beside, the students were asked to leave the students halls within 5:00pm.

University Vice-Chancellor Professor Mohammad Rafiqul Alam told banglanews that the decision was taken to avoid any untoward situations.

CUET sources said that on Monday, Chhatra League joint convener of the university Shamim Talha Jim was chopped by another activists group of joint convener Mosleh Uddin around 8:00pm.

Later, critically injured Shamim Talha Jim was admitted to Chittagong Medical College Hospital.
