DHAKA: Education Minister Nurul Islam Nahid on Sunday said the additional fees taken during the admission in the college admission must be returned.
The ruling Awami League lawmaker came up with the forewarning while talking to journalists in response to a question in this regard at his secretariat office.
He said, “The education ministry has fixed the fees for collage admission in its admission policy.”
The ministry’s admission policy for 2014-15 education year said, educational institutions under MPO list in Dhaka Metropolitan area cannot take more than Tk 5,000 for admission.
Admission fees are fixed to Tk 9,000 for Bangla medium and Tk 10,000 for English medium for partially MPO-listed institutions.
The minister also told the journalists that his ministry, firstly, will aware the colleges about the additional fees. Then it will take action after investigation.
“The additional fees will be returned like the previous years,” he said.
