DHAKA: Chhatra League committee of Dhaka University Suryasen Hall postponed and 12 activists expelled for their involvement in an attack that hurt 9 journalists.
BCL unit of DU issued a press release in this regard on Monday night.
On Monday, some 30 BCL activists of Surjo Sen Hall led by its president Mobarak Hossain attacked on them with some indigenous lethal weapons around 8:15pm following a dispute over football game, leaving nine journalists injured.
Among the injured Joint secretary Galib Ashraf and Somoy TV reporter Masudur Rahman are in critical condition.
The injured were rushed to the Dhaka Medical College Hospital. Later, after giving treatment they were transferred to the Dhaka University Medical centre.
The journalists also demanded the resignation of proctor professor Dr AM Amzat for negligence of his duty.
General Secretary Saddam Hossain of DU Journalists Association filed a case with Shahbagh Thana where they showed the detained Shohagh, Bidyut and Sharif arrested.
The Journalists also give a written complain to the Vice Chancellor Dr AAMS Arefin Siddique to ban the culprits for life, resignation of proctor, security of campus and take administrative steps.
