RAJSHAHI: The first-year admission process of Rajshahi University (RU) under the academic session of 2014-2015 will begin on August 27 instead of August 25.
Public Relations Office administrator Professor Ilias Hossain made the disclosure through a press release on Sunday.
The release said that the decision was made due to unavoidable reasons.
Ilias Hossain said that students can register their names for the admission tests by sending SMS from Teletalk numbers after knowing the detail information from official websites (www.ru.ac.bd) and (http://admission.ru.ac.bd) or from national dailies.
Students passed from the Open University would not be allowed to apply for the admission test, he added.
Ilias also added students of Humanities Group have to get total GPA 7.50 in SSC and HSC where GPA less than 3.50 (with 4th subject) would not be accepted.
Students of science group have to get total GPA 8.50 in SSC and HSC where GPA less than 4.00 (with 4th subject) will not be accepted.
For commerce group, students have to get total GPA 8.00 in SSC and HSC where GPA less than 3.50 (with 4th subject) in any subject will not be accepted.
Students of English medium have to pass five subjects in O-level and two in A-level with minimum ‘B’ grade in four subjects and ‘C’ grade in three subjects respectively.
There will be a different question paper for them.
The admission tests will be held from October 19 to October 25.
