DHAKA: Education Minister Nurul Islam Nahid praised the students of the country saying they brought success in several international competitions that make them world’s best students.
He made the remarks while addressing a pre-program discussion with SSC and HSC examination passed students and young writers at Dhaka Reporters Unity (DRU) auditorium on Friday.
Nurul Islam Nahid said “Our students are talented but we could not provide them qualitative education system. We are trying to improve the status of our education system as we made an all supported education policy.’
The minister informed that now 99 percent children attended the classes. Among them, girls are ahead and the statistics proved that girls are also ahead in the SSC results.
He assured their support while they would make them established in their own ways.
Indicating the reporters, Dhaka University vice chancellor AAMS Arefin Siddique said “Truth is facing stuck all over the world, it made difficult to get facts but we should have to be ready to collect truth.”
President of Editors’ Association Golam Sarwar said “the journalists should do their duty respecting the law and orders as they are beyond the law.”
DRU president Shahed Chowdhury chaired the program where AAMS Arefin Siddique, Golam Sarwar, president of Dhaka Stock Exchange Justice Shiddiqur rahman Miah and DRU general secretary Ilias Khan, among others, were present.
