DHAKA: The LLB graduates from the law departments of 31 private universities are entitled to be registered by Bangladesh Bar Council.
The Bar Council took the decision on September 7.
According to the Bar Council’s notice, the Legal Education Committee Meeting took the decision about some 12,864 LLB graduates from several universities who passed in 2012, 2013 and 2014.
The authorities will arrange hearing about 11 branches of seven other universities on September 15.
The universities are ASA University, BRAC University, Bangladesh University, Bangladesh Islamic University, City University, Bangladesh University of Business and Technology, Daffodil International University, Dhaka International University, Eastern University. Gono University, Green University, International Islamic University Chittagong, Khwaja Yunus Ali University, Leading University Sylhet, Metropolitan University, Manarat International University and Prime Asia University, Premier University, Sylhet International University, Southern University, Stamford University Bangladesh, South East University, State University of Bangladesh and Millennium University, People’s University of Bangladesh, University of Information Science and Technology, University of Development Alternative, University of Asia Pacific, Uttara University, World University and ZH Sikder University of Science and Technology.
The pending branches and universities are Dhanmondi, Uttara, Mirpur-10 and Ashulia Branch of Darul Ihsan University and Banani Branch of Atish Dipankar University of Science and Technology.
It also includes Mirpur-1 and Uttara Branch of Prime University, Uttara Branch of IBAIS University, Banani Branch of Northern University, Farmgate Branch of America Bangladesh University and Chittagong branch of BGC Trust University Bangladesh.
However, the Bar Council has not provided registration forms to the private university students for this year.
