DHAKA: The primary terminal examinations scheduled for Tuesday will be held as per routine set earlier.
The Directorate of Primary Education (DPE) made the announcement Monday evening following the fears of examinees over possible hartal on Tuesday on Latif Siddique issue.
Earlier on Monday, the Nationalist Democratic Front (NDF) threatened to enforce countrywide daylong hartal on Tuesday if the government does not arrest Latif Siddique by the evening.
Regarding the matter, DPE DG Alamgir Hossain told banglanews that the directorate has no plan of postponing the examination till now.
He added: “Anyone can declare any democratic movement in the country but we have still no plans to reschedule the exams.”
Moreover, Hefajat-e-Islam has also declared another hartal for Thursday demanding Latif Siddique’s arrest.
The DPE DG, however, said that the directorate will take decision later after consultancy with the minister about Thursday’s exam.
‘Bangladesh & Bishya Parichay’ of the terminal examinations will be held on Tuesday while the madrasah students will sit for their Paribesh Parichiti Samaj/Bigyan examination in the same day.
A total 30 lakh 94 thousand and 265 students have enrolled their names for the terminal examinations for this year.
