ISLAMIC UNIVERSITY (KUSHTIA): The authorities of Islamic University (IU) of Kushtia and law enforcers separately filed three cases against 1,500 unnamed students for vandalizing the campus and setting fire to 35 university buses.
IU authorities filed two cases while the law enforcers filed another case.
No actions, however, was taken so far against the driver of the bus that ran over Titu, a third year student of Biotechnology and Genetics Engineering Department of the university on November 30.
Officer-in-Charge of IU Thana Mohibul Islam confirmed the matter to banglanews.
He further said bereaved family was taking time to file a case adding that the university authorities prepared documents to file a law suit.
IU Proctor Professor Dr ATM Lokman Hakim told banglanews that time was necessary to file a case against the driver as it requires a process.
He added: “We have completed the processes and sent documents to the thana. A case will be filed very soon.”
Titu, a third year student of Biotechnology and Genetics Engineering Department of the university was run over by a bus while getting into another bus on November 30.
Agitated students set fire to 35 buses and vandalized the administrative building, offices, and VC’s residence in this connection.
