Dhaka University to go solar in phases

DHAKA: The Dhaka University authorities have announced to go solar in phases as it began with a faculty on Saturday.  

Installing a solar panel at the dean’s office of the Engineering and Technology Faculty, DU Vice-Chancellor Prof AAMS Arefin Siddiqui said the university would set up solar panels in different other establishments.
 
He said solar power was the best alternative source of energy that becomes cheaper in the long run for consumers with its eco-friendly technology.

The dean of the faculty Dr. Sahida Rafiq told banglanews24.com.bd that the first solar energy system of the university would generate 105 Watts electricity. “The capacity could be increased with addition of more panels.”  

Vice-Chancellor of BUET Professor Dr. A.M.M Shafiullah, Treasurer of DU Dr. Mizanur Rahman, other faculty members and students were present.
