DHAKA: A cocktail was blasted and another one was recovered inside the Arts Faculty Building of Dhaka University on Tuesday noon.

Witness said a cocktail went off with a huge bang in an open space between the History Department and Mass Communication and Journalism Department of the building around 11:45am while another one was found abandoned there.

Later, a bomb disposal unit of police removed the unexploded cocktail.

Shahbagh Thana Officer-In-Charge Sirajul Islam confirmed the matter to banglanews.

Following the incident, DU acting proctor Amjad Ali told the journalists that the explosion has taken place to create instability in the university.

On January 13, four cocktails were recovered inside a toilet of Political Science Department in the Arts Building during the convocation of the university.
