DHAKA: The examination of the vocational English-1 of Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) will be held as per schedule amid Jamaat-called nationwide hartal.
Inter-education board sub-committee president and Dhaka Broad chairman Abu Bakkar Siddique confirmed the matter to banglanews.
The test is scheduled to begin at 10:00am on Tuesday.
He said as per directives of the Education Minister, the HSC examinations will be held amid hartal. So, Tuesday’s exam will be held timely.
There is no exam in the schedule on Wednesday (April 8).
Earlier in the day, the Supreme Court upheld the death penalty to war criminal and Jamaat-e-Islami leader Muhammad Kamaruzzaman rejecting his review petition.
Hours after the verdict, Jamaat-e-Islami announced to enforce a two-day countrywide hartal from Tuesday protesting the Supreme Court order that upheld death penalty of its leader Mohammad Kamaruzzaman rejecting his review petition.
