TANGAIL: Bhashani University of Science and Technology administration has suspended nine students over the death of a student on Wednesday clashes on the campus.

Moreover, a 5-member high-level investigation team, led by Dr Sharif Enamul Kabir, has also been formed in this regard.

An emergency meeting of the university took the decision on Thursday afternoon.

The suspended students included Omar Faruk of environment science and resource management, Monirul Islam Monir and Ashikur Rahman of computer science and engineering, Mohaiminul Qaiyum and Omar Faruk of textile engineering, MA Ahad Khan and Babu Kishur of information and communication technology and Saidur Rahman of criminology and police science departments.

However, Dhaka Medical College and Hospital (DMCH) authorities have handed over the body of slain student Mosharraf to the deceased’s cousin Abdul Latif. A three-member team led by the university’s assistant proctor Khairul Islam carried the body to Mosharraf’s village in Muktagachha upazila of Mymensingh district this morning.

Two groups of students on Wednesday locked into clashes to establish supremacy on the camp leaving one dead and three others injured.
