DHAKA: The High Court has allowed three colleges of the city--Holy Cross College, Notre Dame College, St. Joseph Higher Secondary School -- to hold admission tests overruling a government order.
After the hearing a writ petition, Justice Naima Haider and Justice M Iqbal Kabir on Monday stayed the circular of education ministry that mandates college admission based on SSC results for the three colleges.
On June 1, the education ministry published a circular to admit student across the country on basis of SSC results.
The principals of the three colleges filed three separate writ petitions challenging the legality of some sections of the circular.
Senior lawyer Fida M Kamal moved for the petitioners.
