DHAKA: The government will provide assistance from Prime Minister’s fund to those, who fail to take admission in colleges due to poverty, paving their way to continue studies.
Education minister Nurul Islam Nahid made the disclosure at a press conference at the secretariat in city on Sunday.
Regarding the matter, education secretary Nazrul Islam Khan said every year at least one-lakh students, who pass SSC, do not get admitted to college.
However, the students, who have decided not to appeal this year, will be given assistance from Prime Minister's Education Assistance Trust if they got admitted.
Although not all, at least some of students will be given assistance through their respective colleges, he added.
