DHAKA: The High Court (HC) Wednesday has rejected the writ petition filed by guardians seeking second chance for admission at Dhaka University.
After the rejection, students will not get any second chance for DU enrollment.
An HC bench comprising Justice Farah Mahbub and Justice Kazi Md. Ejarul Haque Akondo passed the order.
The same bench issued a rule on March 16 asking why the university’s decision to not allow second-timers should not be declared illegal.
The court asked the DU VC, Registrar, assistant registrar and exams controller along UGC chairman and education secretary to explain by two weeks.
On 15 October, Dhaka university authority decided to disallow a second chance to aspirants seeking admission. Protests staged across the country as well as the university premises against the decision.
Later, 26 guardians of admission seekers filed the writ.
