DHAKA: Results of the Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) and equivalent examinations will be published on August 9.
As per tradition, education minister Nurul Islam Nahid along with chairmen of all education boards will hand over copies of the results to Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina on that day.
A responsible officer of education ministry confirmed the matter to banglanews on Sunday.
At around 10:00am, the premier will publish the results through video conference with two colleges of separate districts from her official residence Ganabhaban.
Later at noon, Nahid will officially announce the results at a press conference at the Secretariat.
An official of the ministry, earlier, told banglanews that a proposal had been sent to Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) to fix a date either Aug 8 or 9 to announce the results to meet the 60-day publication deadline.
Later, the PMO approved the date.
Over 10.73 lakh students under 10 education boards appeared in this year's HSC and equivalent exams held between April 1 and June 22.
Of the students, 5, 70, 993 were boys and 5,02,891 were girls.
