DHAKA: Education Minister Nurul Islam Nahid urged the university teachers to carry on admission tests and other academic activities assuring of settling down the problems of teachers.
The minister said that at a coordination meeting held at Education Ministry at Bangladesh secretariat on Thursday.
Teachers of public universities started demonstrations after salary hike of government employees in the eighth pay scale.
Nahid said, “University teachers’ demands have questioned. The government is working to solve the crisis. The committee has been reconstructed. There is no reason to show discontent by the teachers. The Education Ministry is working for the sake of teachers’ interests.”
“Teachers say they will not do work do not take classes, exams. It would not be wise. Academic activities, admission test should continue on a regular basis,” the minister asked teachers.
Regarding the medical admission test question leak, Nahid said it is not education ministry or my jurisdiction. Health Ministry will take decision in this regard, he added.
