DHAKA: Independent University, Bangladesh (IUB) organized an orientation program on Saturday at its auditorium in Bashundhara in city the newly admitted students of the Autumn-2015 Trimester.
Welcoming the new students IUB vice-chancellor Professor M Omar Rahman depicted the distinctive nature of the university’s education which places importance of professional education on the foundation of cross-disciplinary liberal arts curricula.
Professor Milan Pagon, Pro-Vice Chancellor (Designate), Professor Sarwar Uddin Ahmed, Dean, School of Business, Professor Shahriar Khan, on behalf of School of Engineering and Computer Science, Dr Mohammad Abdul Khaleque, on behalf of School of Environmental Science and Management, Professor Zakir Hossain Raju, Dean, School of Liberal Arts and Social Sciences and Dr Rita Yusuf, Dean, School of Life Sciences, also spoke to the newly admitted students on the occasion.
The program was conducted by Priyanka Dey, Assistant Director, Undergraduate Admissions of IUB.
Later, the newly admitted students visited different Schools, Departments, Library, and Cafeteria etc.
Apart from the students, their parents, guardians, members of the faculty and management of IUB were present on the occasion.
