FROM OSMANI AUDITORIUM: Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina asked the people concerned about the necessity of admission test for class-1 students.
Children will be admitted at the schools following their ages. It’s their rights, she asserted.
The PM made this assertion at the inaugural program on International Literacy Day at Osmani Memorial Auditorium in city on Tuesday.
If the children can understand the written questions and later answer them to be admitted at schools, then what they will learn from the schools, the PM criticized the existing scenario.
Calling for not creating pressure on children, she further said that the burden of books and homework make the children frightened about the schools as well education.
Putting emphasis on teaching through games, the PM said that the children usually can learn fast, so they should not learn under pressure.
According to her, if teachers or guardians create pressure on children for learning, it may gradually distract them from education.
The PM also called upon all for making the nation free from illiteracy as well as making 16-crore people of country as human-resources.
