DHAKA: A group of medical admission seekers has staged sit-in program in city’s Shahbagh intersection on Sunday to press their demand of rearranging fresh test for medical admission.

Moreover, a six-member team of students is set to go to the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) to place their memorandum.

Earlier this morning, they organized he sit-in program on the premises of Central Shahid Minar upholding the demand.

Students of Dhaka Medical College, Sir Salimullah Medical College, Suhrawardi Medical College, Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET), Dhaka University, Chittagong University and other institutions expressed their solidarity to the movement.

A Dhaka Medical College student Ali Imam said, “We have come here to support the movement as the question leak scam has also humiliated us”.

“We are afraid that anyone can ask us about our quality as a medical student due to the question leak incidents,” he added.

Expressing his solidarity to the medical students’ movement, a Dhaka University student Sifat Mahmud said, “if the protesting students fail to meet their demand, it will be a failure of all students to ensure their right to education”.

The agitating students were chanting slogans including, ‘We Want Re-examination’.
