DHAKA: Professor Dr MM Shahidul Hasan has been made vice-chancellor (VC) of East West University (EWU) on Sunday.

President and also Chancellor of the universities Abdul Hamid made this appointment for four years.

EWU public relations officer (PRO) SM Mahiuddin told banglanews that Dr Shahidul will be the fourth VC of the university replacing Professor Ahmed Shafi.

EWU Trustee Board chairperson and also Bangladesh Bank former governor Dr Mohammad Farashuddin welcomed the newly appointed VC on its Aftabnagar campus in city.

Earlier, Dr Shahidul Hasan worked at electrical and electronics department of Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET).
