DHAKA: Detectives and Criminal Investigation Department (north) deputy commissioner (DC) Sheikh Nazmul Alam said the gang of question paper forgery used to seize main certificates of SSC and HSC examinations of university admission seekers.
He was addressing a press conference at Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) media center in city on Saturday.
Detectives, in drives conducted between Thursday night and Friday afternoon, detained 17 members of question paper forgery gang from city’s Dholaikhal and Tejgaon areas.
DC Sheikh Nazmul said that during the drives, police recovered main certificates of SSC and HSC examinations of several admission seekers, question papers of Dhaka University admission test sent through mobile phone and WhatsApp.
Moreover, police also recovered copies of conversions in Facebook.
The gang used to leak question paper through mobile phone and WhatsApp. They contacted with admission seekers through social media, he added.
DC Sheikh Nazmul went on saying that process is underway to file a case against the detainees.
He further said as per information provided by committee of Dhaka University, they nabbed admission seeker Jubayer Hossain from Ziaur Rahman Hall.
Then, 16 others have been detained from different areas of the city.
