DHAKA: The embassy of the Republic of Korea in Dhaka is continuously assisting to improve the information and educational environment of the ‘Korea Corner’ in central library of Dhaka University (DU) to enhance knowledge about Korea.
This ‘Korea Corner’ is playing a strong role as communication bridge between Korea and the students of Dhaka University, said a press release.
The ‘Corner’ set a good example for such collaboration.
In 2013, Republic of Korea and Dhaka University signed a memorandum of Understanding (MoU) and setup the ‘Korea Corner’ to mark the 40th anniversary of establishment of the diplomatic relations between Korea and Bangladesh.
Korean envoy Ahn Seong-doo said, “During the last 42 years, the two countries have enjoyed the excellent relationship. Korea has been and will be an excellent partner of Bangladesh for its development. This initiative is really a highly appreciable move which will help the students to know more about modern Korea”.
The ambassador also paid a call on Dhaka University vice-chancellor (VC) Professor Dr AASM Arifin Siddique and handover books and DVDs.
The envoy believed that this initiative will help to enhance strengthening partnership and mutual cooperation between Korea and Dhaka University.
Dr AASM Arefin Siddique thanked the Korean government and Korean ambassador for books and educational equipments.
He said Korea is our development partner and Korean government has been providing assistance help and cooperation at various fields specially education sector of Bangladesh for long time.
