DHAKA: The 18th annual Education UK Exhibition commenced in Dhaka on Thursday (January 28) aiming to prepare individuals, who want to find out how an education experience in the UK for an exciting career and give them a competitive edge in the global marketplace.
The two-day exhibition is being held at Pan Pacific Sonargaon hotel in city with participation of 27 globally renowned universities of United Kingdom, said a press release of The British Council.
Jatiya Sangsad Speaker Dr Shirin Sharmin Chaudhury inaugurated the event as chief guest while British high commissioner to Bangladesh Alison Blake attended the event as special guest.
The British Council Bangladesh director Barbara Wickham was also present during the inauguration.
Speaking about the event, Barbara Wickham said, ‘The British Council actively help students and their parents learn about study opportunities in the UK. Our annual Education UK Exhibitions showcase the range of study options available in the UK’.
Students and visitors will have the opportunity to seek advice on undergraduate and postgraduate degree courses, scholarship opportunities and to find out what it is like to live and study in the UK.
‘So, we encourage everyone to come and explore the options - and take those important first steps in the journey towards a quality education.’
Information about the UK visa application process, other opportunities offered by the British Council to learn English and complete internationally recognized qualifications from the UK was available at the exhibition.
Entry tickets to the exhibition were available at the venue, priced at Tk 50 only. Open from 12:00pm to 6:00pm Thursday, the fair will be open from 11:00am to 6:00pm Friday.
The event will also take place at Zinnia Hall of The Peninsula in Chittagong on January 31 and at Rose View Hotel in Sylhet on February 3.
