DHAKA: The US and Bangladesh will sign a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to extend cooperation in the latter’s education sector.
The US ambassador to Bangladesh Marcia Stephens Bloom Bernicat made this disclosure while meeting with education minister Nurul Islam Nahid at his secretariat office in city on Tuesday (April 5).
The envoy appreciated Bangladesh government’s initiatives in making progress in the country’s education sector, especially in primary, secondary and vocational sections.
She also assured the minister for her government’s willingness in extending cooperation for continuous development in education sector.
The minister and the envoy also discussed about the opportunities in extending cooperation particularly in higher education, research and training for teachers.
Additional education secretary Dr Aruna Biswas and American Center in Dhaka were present during the meeting.
