DHAKA: The Center for Pedagogy (CP) at Independent University, Bangladesh (IUB) has organized a two-day international conference on teaching and learning on the theme- Education in the current world: Pedagogy, Research and Social Change.
The inauguration of the conference was held at on Friday (April 22) at IUB campus in Bashundhara residential area.
Professor Dr Mesbahuddin Ahmed, Head of Quality Assurance Unit (QAU) of University Grants Commission, was present as chief guest of the inaugural ceremony.
Dr Robert Matthew, Director of Centre for Academic Research and Development (CARD) at Durham University, UK presented the keynote on “Reflections on Educating University Students in the 21st Century”.
Dr Mahbub Alam, Dean of School of Liberal Arts and Social Sciences (SLASS), placed the welcome speech.
Professor M Omar Rahman, Vice Chancellor of IUB chaired the program.
The event was supported by the Higher Education Quality Enhancement Project (HEQEP) of Education Ministry.
The conference will explore the interrelationship between pedagogy, research and social change.
