DHAKA: The government is mulling appointment of an observer to the trustee board of each private university in the country.

University Grants Commission (UGC) chairman Professor Dr. Abdul Mannan made the disclosure while addressing a press conference at UGC auditorium in city on Sunday (July 31).

He also said there is a shortage of people in the commission to monitor militant activities in the universities.
