DHAKA: A two-day 19th annual Education UK Exhibition commenced on Thursday (January 26) at the British Council’s Dhaka University Campus office at city’s Fuller Road.
A total of 21 globally renowned British Universities have participated in the biggest UK education exhibition in Bangladesh.
Chairman of University Grants Commission of Bangladesh Professor Abdul Mannan inaugurated the event as chief guest while British High Commissioner to Bangladesh Alison Blake graced the event as special guest.
Barbara Wickham, Director, British Council Bangladesh, was also present during the inauguration, said a press release.
Speaking about the event, Barbara Wickham said, “The Exhibition will help students and their parents to learn about study opportunities in the UK. Therefore, we encourage everyone to come and explore the options, and take those important first steps in the journey towards a quality education.”
Professor Abdul Mannan, said, “The education system in Bangladesh has been continuously improving over the years, but it is also true that more of our youth visiting abroad to receive knowledge and skills under some of the best education systems in the world and coming back to serve their nation would add immense value to our economy and society as well.”
The fair was open from 12:00pm to 6:00pm Thursday and will remain open from 11:00am to 6:00pm Friday.
The event will also take place on January 29 in Chittagong and on the February 1 in Sylhet at Rose View Hotel.
