DHAKA: The Secondary School Certificate (SSC) and equivalent examinations-2017 under eight general education boards, Madrasa and vocational have begun across the country on Thursday (February 2).
This year, 17,86,613 students have registered to sit for the public test, which is 1,35,090 more than last year, said the Education Minister.
Education Minister Nurul Islam Nahid expected to visit the Government Laboratory High School around 9:30am.
The examinations are being held at 3,236 centers of 28,344 institutions across Bangladesh.
A total of 446 students from eight overseas centers are expected to appear in the examination.
Theory examination will end on Thursday (March 2) while Practical exam will continue from March 4 to March 11.
14,25,900 students are likely to sit for SSC examination under eight general education board while 2,56,501 for Dakhil examination and, 1,04,212 for vocational exams.
Physically handicapped students have taken part in the examination. The extra 20 minutes will be given to them while, autistic, down syndrome, Cerebral Palsy-affected participants will get 30 more minutes.
