DHAKA: Deputy Commissioner (Uttara zone) of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) Bidhan Chandra Tripura categorically said they would detain students who will hang around with friends wearing school uniforms during class time.
He was addressing a press briefing at DMP media centre on Tuesday afternoon (February 14).
The detained students will be locked-up in the respective police stations and handed over to none but their legal guardians or representatives of school authorities, he added.
The DMP DC further said nowadays the school students in Uttara zone are locking into conflicts over joining different Facebook groups and establishing supremacy.
“One of such conflicts led to the murder of school student Adnan,” he added.
Bidhan Chandra said they arrested a total of 14 suspects in the Adnan murder case. “Of them, three are in remand and five are fugitive while five have given confessional statement.”
On January 6, Adnan, a Class-IX student of Trust School and College in Uttara, was killed over establishing supremacy.
Later, a murder case was filed with the Uttara police station (West) in this regard.
