DHAKA: Directorate of Secondary and Higher Education (DSHE) has fixed 40 private secondary schools and 285 colleges for nationalization.
DSHE secondary unit on Sunday (April 23) issued an order saying the finance department has agreed to nationalize 42 schools as per the Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina’s policy decision on nationalizing one college and one secondary school per upazila.
However, of the 42, two schools were nationalized earlier.
The premier will approve the schools’ name for the process.
DSHE order also said no more than the fixed 325 schools and colleges will be approved for nationalization in this fiscal year since budget revising is underway.
