COMILLA: Comilla Education Board issued ‘show cause’ notices to 930 schools in six districts under its authority for a debacle in the Secondary School Certificate (SSC) examination results published earlier this month.
Comilla Education Board school inspector Ilias Uddin confirmed the matter to Banglanews on Tuesday (May 16).
He said the notice was sent to the schools under the directive of board chairman asking for reasons of such worst results within seven days. Moreover, possible recommendation for what could be the way to overcome the situation was also asked in the notice.
In the last five years, the biggest blunder in SSC results had happened in Comilla Education Board this year with a pass rate of 59.03 percent.
The average pass rate in 2017 SSC examination was 80.35 percent.
