DHAKA: The Office of the Career Guidance and Placement of Independent University, Bangladesh (IUB) organized a daylong Alumni Job Fair 2017on May 23, 2017 for its students and graduates at university’s own campus in Dhaka’s Bashundhara. 

Mr. Rashed Chowdhury, Chairman, Board of Trustees, IUB, inaugurated the Fair as the Chief Guest.

IUB alumni who have now become entrepreneurs and employers participated in the Job Fair. This has been unique and first ever of its kind where all participating organizations are owned, managed and directed exclusively by IUB Alumni.

Prof. M. Omar Rahman, Vice Chancellor, IUB; Prof. Milan Pagon, Pro Vice Chancellor, IUB Mr. Md. Abdullah Iqbal, Deputy Director, Career Guidance and Placement, IUB and 20 IUB alumni and presently the owners of various companies introduced themselves and spoke during the inaugural ceremony  .

Main objectives of organizing and implementing this Job Fair were in 2-fold. Firstly, to create ample opportunities for IUB students and graduates to know about various organizations in Bangladesh that are owned by IUB alumni. This Fair also takes them through the operational procedure of participating companies and organizations; their vision, mission and values and at the same location that creates avenues towards obtaining suitable jobs and crafting desired professional careers.

Secondly, the participating companies and organizations also get plenty of scopes in selecting very resourceful and promising professionals who can really become the assets for these institutions in order to expanding and achieving their ultimate business and operational goals.

A total number of 34 companies and organizations took part in the Job Fair. They presented 38 different stalls, collected CV’s and offered jobs to IUB graduates.

Maasranga television, the Daily Star, Colors Radio FM and Bikroy.com were the media partners of this daylong event.
